| Sanctus 2001Red Wine70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc Reviews / Ratings:
" . . . The opaque purple-colored 2001 offers up a sweet perfume of expresso roast, kirsch liqueur, black currants, licorice, and spice box. Toasty oak makes an appearance on the palate, along with a wealth of fruit, concentration, and extract. This impressively-endowed Bordeaux should take on even more character as it ages. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and consume it over the following 12-15." (Wine Advocate # 153, Jun 2004) "Sanctus is the luxury cuvee of Château la Bienfaisance. A nine-acre garage operation, Sanctus has boasted Stéphane Derononcourt as its consultant since 2001 (when the quality began to soar). The vineyard is planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet." Consume "now-2021." (Parker’s Wine Buyer’s Guide No. 7, Oct. 2008) |
