Reviews / Ratings:

"Consultant Stéphane Derononcourt is a believer in such Burgundian techniques as fold prefermentations, macerations, malolactic in barrel, aging the wine on its lees, and minimal clarification.  This beautiful Pessac-Leognan exhibits notes of charcoal, scorched earth, and sweet black currant and cherry fruit.  With soft tannins, a lush mouthfeel, and a pure finish, it will drink well for 5-6 years."  (Wine Advocate # 178, Aug. 2008)

". . . [S]ome small estates like . . . Fougeres La Folie . . . are notable high quality bargain selections."  (Wine Advocate # 176, Apr 2008, “Bordeaux, Who’s Next?)

"It is not too soon to offer some exciting news.  This estate is supervised by Patrick Baseden, who is better known as the owner of the St.-Emilion estates of La Bienfaisance and Sanctus.  Baseden brought in the hot-shot wine guru Stéphane Derononcourt to begin making the wines in 2002.  This obscure property could become a name to reckon with in the future.  Stay-tuned."  (Bordeaux, A Consumer’s Guide to the World’s Finest Wines, 4th ed.).
