Rated 90: “A top-notch effort, the 2004 Vignelaure is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 5% Grenache. The Cabernet dominates the bouquet, featuring cedary notes and hints of mint and tobacco, but it’s softened and smoothed out on the palate by the inclusion of the other varieties, offering more cherries than cassis. Approachable now, but this is a wine that’s balanced for up to 20 years of aging, as the 1990 still appears to have plenty of life (J.C. – 7/1/2008)
