Ratings / Reviews:

  • The Château de Bellet wines are recognized to be among the very finest of Provence and the Côte d’Azur and have received numerous citations and awards.
  • Bettane & Dessuave, Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2009, rates the 2006 Red 18/20, a wine of exceptional quality!
  • Gillian Duffy, A Food Lover’s Guide to the Côte d’Azur, Departures Magazine, May/June 2008 issue:

“Top Local Vineyard,  Château de Bellet, Nice, there is nothing quite like basking under the Mediterranean sun while sipping a vin rosé, most likely a Côte de Provence from the Var region.  But the Riveria has its very own – albeit miniscule –  AOC:  Bellet.  It sits in the hills behind Nice, and one of the best of its 13 vineyards is Château de Bellet, which is perched on a hilltop with great view and has been in the Baron de Bellet’s family for 400 years . . . . It creates a delicious, crisp salmon-pink wine that is available at most of the top restaurants in the region.”
  • Richard Nalley, Through the Grapevines, The 50 best wine experiences in the South of France, Departures Magazine, September 1999 issue:

"47 A Nice Place. Nice This is the only city in France that boasts its own appellation, Bellet, established in 1941.  The appellation lies on the hills northwest of the city and consists of 50 hectares (about 125 acres), of which Château de Bellet, the best property, has 10.  The château’s top white, the Cuvée Baron G., is made solely of Rolle grapes from the oldest parts of the vineyard and is barrique-fermented in new oak for nearly two years . . . . You’ll find it on the better restaurant wine lists . . . ."
