Based in Volnay, this domaine has been in the same family for three generations and is comprised of 7.5 hectares exclusively in the Cote de Beaune, including properties in Aloxe Corton, Chorey-les-Beaune, and Corton Charlemagne, as well as plots of Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Bourgogne Aligote. The proprietors are Thierry and Florence Poulleau.
Vineyard and Vines
The Volnay Premier Cru is made from vines that are 50 - 70 years old planted in soil consisting of limestone and clay.
The Cote de Beaune is made from 25 year old vines grown in red clay.
Grapes are picked manually and sorting is highly selective. Vinification is traditional. Wines are aged in oak barrels for approximately 12 months.
Wines / Awards
The Volnay Premier Cru 2006 received 2 stars and a "Coup de Coeur" (blind tasting) in the Guide Hachette des Vins 2009. Total production was 1000 bottles.
The Chorey-les-Beuane received two stars in the Guide Hachette des Vins 2008. Total production was 2500 bottles.
The Cotes de Beaune "Les Mondes Rondes" 2006 received a gold medal at the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Macon.
