Vineyard
The Côtes du Rhône is made from vines situated in a part of the domaine where the composition of the soil is primarily limestone, while the Côtes du Rhône Villages is made from vines planted in a terroir of stones.
The grapes used to make the Côtes du Rhône are primarily Grenache (75%). The balance are a combination of Carrignan, Syrah and Cinsault. The average age of these vines is 50 years. Total production is 13 hectares with a yield of 42 hectoliters per hectare. The wine is made using traditional methods.
The dominant grape variety in Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu are Grenache (80%) and Syrah (15%), with the remainder consisting of Mourvèdre. The average age of the vines is 35 years.

The wines of Domaine de l’Espigoutte are highly regarded. Robert Parker has described this estate as “one of the most reliable in the Rhone Valley” and a "domaine to take seriously" for those looking for "fabulous values from the southern Rhone Valley."
The Côtes du Rhône 2006 was awarded the Médaille d’Argent au concours Général Agricole de Paris and two stars in the 2009 Guide Hachette des Vins.
The estate’s wines regularly receive high marks in the Guide Hachette des Vins.
